How dangerous is it to live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin?

I lived there for 3 months right after Hurricane Katrina, but I didn't get to explore the city because all I did was go to school & then come back home because I was very depressed, as a result of the disaster. My brother said it's very dangerous & that I shouldn't move back there. Well, he was the one who MADE me move there. He's very manipulative. & is it true that all the low-income areas there are dangerous? Or do you think he just wanted to make a fool out of me & make me spend more money? He makes it like you can get killed everywhere you go. That's another reason why I stayed to myself. I'm not sure, but I MIGHT be considering moving back there to try to go to Grad school.

I work in Milwaukee Wi. And I will tell you yes there are some areas that can get kinda scary but there are a whole lot more that are very nice communities. Its just like any other big city, your always going to have a few bad areas. Tell your brother for factual information next time, he doesn't know what hes talking about!!!

It depends on how much you like cheese and how many people you relay this information to.

I live on the border between Chicago and Mil. I like it here in the country,no traffic, not even a traffic light for 2 miles. I watch the news in both city's and I would have to say Milwaukee is much safer.I am sure there are bad places, you wouldn't want to go but that is everywhere you go. I am moving to the Philippines in a few months, and yes I'm sure there bad parts of town even there. Tell your brother he needs to lighten up,get a life of his own,and let you live yours.

It depends on where you are, like any big city. Madison is a very nice college town, though
