In Milwaukee, Marquette University High School is an excellent all boys Catholic school. My Dad, a cousin, and friends attended. Marquette is good at college prep, sports, and I see evidence of good effort at character development. http://www.muhs.edu/ I don't know as much about the Milwaukee counterpart for girls, two girls I knew went there. Divine Savior Holy Angels High School www.dsha.info These schools can possibly direct you to middle and grade schools. Catholic schools in the Milwaukee area have an excellent educational reputation. And I make this hearty recommendation as a non-Catholic.

What is Milwaukee Wisconsin like

I've never been to Wisconsin and I'm thinking of attending school there. I live in the suburbs of a large city on the west coast.

Milwaukee is like a little Chicago. It's like being in San Diego and LA is close by. Be prepared for cold weather and a lot of beer drinking people

What is a better school, Marquette University or Bradley University

I am thinking about either going to Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin or Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. What do you think is a better school? Like education, student life, etc. Any reviews about either school would be much appreciated. Also a place where I can find many student reviews. I am going into civil engineering.

I am a very proud Marquette U. alumna. I enjoyed my time there. And, it is truly a great school. I knew several engineering majors, and they graduated with great jobs and connections. Academically, you will definitely be challenged and prepared for the "real world". As far as student life, there is something for everyone. There are plenty of groups, organizations, and activities in which students can participate. Also, the campus is right downtown. It's on many buslines. And, it's near a mall and the lake (there you will find the beach, festivals, etc...). I don't know much about Bradley. But, for an engineering major, Marquette U. is a great choice!

The Film program in the Peck School of the Arts is a growing power that, at the bachelor's degree level, has three inter-related tracks: Film/Video/New Genres, Conceptual Studies in Media Arts Production, and Photography. Rob Yeo is the department chairperson and is well-respected on campus. Contact him if you have any specific questions (or just want to start to get to know the faculty on staff). The on-campus dorms date back a few decades, but are extremely well maintained (my son lived there from 06-08). The four towers are like a small town with its own movie theater, convenience store, and workout room. The off-campus dorms are a little more than a mile away from campus, served by shuttles 24 hours a day. One opened in January 2008 and the other opens in Fall 2010. The UWM LGBT Resource Center is very active and works with other organizations across campus.

Just think of places you'd like to work... Restaurants, malls, best buy, etc. and apply at them. I'm not sure if milwaukeejobs.com is geared more for adults or if they have a part time section but you could try there.

Are there any Architecture schools in Wisconsin

I want to go to school fo architecture and it's all very confusing for me as to how long I have to go, for instance the local Madison Area Technical College offers a 2 year program but I know that it takes 5 to 6 years to get either a Bachelor of Architecture or a Masters of Architecture. So far, I've heard from M.A.T.C. that the two year program transfers to University Wisconsin in Milwaukee, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know of any schools that offer the full 5 or 6 course in the state of Wisconsin?

The only way to know is to apply!! Or, try gonig to the UW-Milwaukee for a few months or a semester or two. Get your grades up and show that you are serious about this. Then, try to transfer over to UWM. This would show that you are trying to improve your grades

Milwaukee is great. We moved to CT from there. Wisconsin/Milwaukee was my home base since I was a kid. Still have family there. They have an amazing art museum, beautiful lake front, lots of cultural stuff going on all the time. Festivals at the lake front all summer long. The University in Milwaukee is great and has good theatre, film and lecture series going on. They had a series called Science Friday for years for kids/families - may still be happening. People are super nice, the city is clean and pretty. One drawback is that it is pretty segregated and crime has been a problem in the past several years. As much as I love the area I can't bury that. I don't know what your situation is but I would suggest looking at homes in the villages just north of the city - Shorewood, Whitefish Bay, Bayside, Fox Point, etc. The schools are quite good. University School is a private school that I think is pricey... Check out Montessori or Waldorf if you are interested in alternative education for your kids. Be sure you focus on family activities and extracurricular activities to keep the kids out of trouble and wandering due to boredom - there are a lot of distractions for a bored kid. Oh, and be prepared for COLD weather. Cold in CT is nothing by comparison.

I was born in Milwaukee and live not all that far away. It is lovely and lively but it was voted the Most Racist City in America not too long ago. But that depends on the people you meet. It has lots teathers and my dad worked in MPS schools for a long time and I turned out great. Milwaukee has good German and Greek food. I really don't know about your school, but many schools for the developmentally and physically disabled have small pools for therapy use. On the other hand, when students are in these pools they are usually very, very closely supervised. A child going under long enough to die would be extremely rare and I imagine big news. Now if a kid of a teacher or such was in the pool after hours it would seem that it would still hit the news - a therapy pool is maybe 4-5 feet deep and would not have been of huge use in a standard elementary school. It's possible they just filled it in to create more classroom space. Good Luck
