I'm interested in pursuing a career as a radiologist assistant but I plan on going to a 4 year to get my Bachelor's degree and then 2 years for radiology. The problem is, I don't think Wisconsin has a school for radiology other than a 2 year technical college for it down by Milwaukee. Does anybody know if any UW has radiology or do I just get a bachelors in biology and then pursue a 2 year program at a technical school for radiology?

An order to do RT assistant you have to be registered as an RT (aka ARRT). you'll also need work experience. I'd recommend doing a 4 years Radiologic Science. for Wisonsin, the UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN - MILWAUKEE does has a B.S in Radiologic Technology. There are other schools that offer such program within WI: CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY-WISCONSIN and MOUNT MARY COLLEGE If you're interested in doing a B.S in Radiation Therapy, UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN - LA CROSSE has a good program. Good luck.

What about this: http://www.aurorahealthcare.org/services/radiology/schools.asp A girl I used to work was a secretary at the hospital and went into the radiology program, they gave her secretarial work when she could work around the program a few hours and she now is working at the hospital in radiology after finishing the program. Seems good cuz you learn and then they give you a job.

Kettering University or Milwaukee School of Engineering?
http://www.kettering.edu/ Kettering is in Michigan. http://www.msoe.edu/ MSOE is in Wisconsin. Both are similar in price. I'm going for Electrical Engineering and both have good programs for this. However, like any other student; I'm not looking to spend countless hours studying or working on a lab. I was wondering if anyone could give some insight on the workload (hours) at either of the schools or just tell me more about them. Thanks

Milwaukee- By the way, EE is not a bird program. You will be in classroom or labs for 8 or more hours a day four days a week in any reputable program, and, if you expect to make it as a professional engineer, you will need every minute of that to learn enough to survive. If you are unable or unwilling to put in the time and effort, you would be well advised to find another career path

These days, ged's are TOOO EASY to get online! thats the first thing you got to do. SECOND thing is to go to a community college and excel in just life in general because here you are online asking what to do in life. Thats the most important thing to do to better one self. Everything is in your hands! take advantage of your opportunity!
2 :
Get your GED
3 :
Go to your local Community College and enroll to get your GED. (This will be through their "Adult High School" program.) This is the key to almost everything. Once you have your GED, you can enroll in Community College and begin to take College Level courses to get yourself a degree in whatever field interests you. If you do as much of your General Education Requirements at community college before transferring to a 4-year university, you will save money on your education. Good Luck.
4 :
Get your GED. But the first poster is incorrect - the *real* GED exams are not available online. You can only take them in person. The online GEDs you might see are scams, so be cautious. Instead, contact the adult ed program in your area, or your local community college. Both offer GED prep classes at very low cost - maybe $25 for the entire series of 10 classes. Take the classes, then take the GED exams

What are some great film schools in the Wisconsin area? Or an awesome website in which to help me find such
I'm looking for a school that isn't a full four year thing, and focuses on special effects, visual effects, lighting, production, cinematography, editing, CGI, and other general film/video type things. I'd prefer if they teach programs that are compatible with both PC and Mac, like the Adobe Suites or something, not Final Cut Pro, and I'm not sure where Avid stands on that. I was all gung-ho about Madison Media Institute, but now I'm having second thoughts because they focus alot on Final Cut, which is a great program, but I'd really rather stick with a platform unbiased application, or if it comes down to it, Windows based.(Used to be an Apple fanboy, but man, Microsoft really has been making some amazing moves lately, and Windows 7 was just the final blow on my apple loyalty, I absolutely love using Seven. Not to mention, you really can just get so much more 'bang for your buck' with a PC.) I live somewhat near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. So if I could find a place fairly close, Madison, Milwaukee, or Chicago, that'd be really nice. If anyone knows of any schools that meet my criteria, or are close, please do tell. Also, if you know of a great website that has an intuitive search and vast database for this sort of stuff, that would be amazing as well. Thank you all so much for your help!

alright here is a pretty controversial answer... PetCo, i know, i hate petco and petsmart, but they are the only places that i have ever seen russian tortoises. Also, i tell people to buy some animals from petco because basically you are saving their life. Do you know what happens when a petco has a reptile for too long, without it being adopted. They put it in the fridge to kill it, because they are too lazy to take care of it until it gets adopted, so please if you can, get a tortoise from a petco, they arent expensive and surprisingly the tortoises that i have seen at Petcos and Petsmarts are actually pretty healthy

i live in wisconsin too! i found a corn snake breeder in wisconsin and the snake was shipped to me. if i were you i would put a want ad on craigslist. good luck!
3 :
You can contact a rescue center, they will let you adopt. it will be happier for the tortoise cheaper for you and more support

WHY DOES UTAH HAVE MORE DIVISION 1 COLLEGE BASKETBALL TEAMS THAN WISCONSIN
Utah has 2.3 million people. Wisconsin has 5.6 million people, yet Utah has more Division 1 schools that Wisconsin. ( 5 for Utah, BYU, Utah, Utah State, Utah Valley, Weber State vs 4 for Wisconsin, Wisconsin, Marquette UW Green Bay & UW Milwaukee. With such a population difference, how can this be?

Introduction Stay away from Art Schools and go to UWM instead. I personally transferred here from Columbia College Chicago, which is full of wannabe art students and suffers from a lack of kids with their heads screwed on straight. UWM is a great school with a very good reputation all around, including in the Art departments. Campus Life and Social Life Social life at UWM has its good and bad points. The worst part is that living off-campus slightly handicaps you when it comes to doing the typical dorm-room freak-out thing. The parties here are decent, though, and there is a great local music and art scene. If you're into urban cultural outings in the arts, music, etc. you'll find that here. Academics The school's academics are challenging from what I can tell. Most notably, the Business School is one of the best in the nation and the College for Science and Letters is the largest. My professors are all right on the whole. Warning: be very wary of english 102. Try to take AP in High School so you can test out of this requirement. The workload overall is really what you make of it, ranging from nothing at all to a challenging course load. Student Body The students are very diverse culturally and demographically. There's a fair amount of students who commute from Milwaukee and the surrounding counties and many international students as well. We like just about anything and everything here at UWM. In Closing... So spend lots of time reshearching the schools you're considering and make sure to visit!

Financed cars is more expensive to insurance cause it requires full coverage. You can compare how much you would pay for full coverage of this car using this tool - carinsurance.deep-ice.com

I live in Milwaukee and about 3 years ago when I was 21, I had financed my car thru a credit union called Marine Credit Union. There's one on 35th & St. Paul and another one on 76th & Bluemound. My parents have horrible credit so they couldnt co-sign for me so I did it myself. My interest is kinda high but I really wanted a nice car. Marine Credit Union said I was available for a $8000 or $9000 car loan. The car that I wanted cost about $8800 and I had a $1000 down payment so I had financed about $7800 thru the credit union. My payments was about $200 for the first two years but this year I've been giving them $350 a month to pay them off early. This time next year I'll have the car paid off. I cant wait.

WISCONSIN/MINNESOTA people!?
WISCONSIN/MINNESOTA people!?
I'm a senior in Appleton, Wisconsin right now. I have about 20 days to decide where I'm going to college and I'm absolutely torn! I'm either going to the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities or Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. My high school boyfriend that I've been dating for a year is going to whitewater which is an hour away from Milwaukee. But overall I like Minnesota better I just can't decide so can someone please give me some input if they know anything about either of these schools! Is it wrong to follow your boyfriend? Also, Minnesota is 5 hours away from my hometown and Milwaukee is only 1 and a half. I just dont know!

If you like Minnesota better overall, then go there, it will make your time there more enjoyable,,
2 :
It is wrong to follow your boyfriend, given you are just about to finish high school. A very small percentage of high school relationships continue much into college and even fewer, of course, lead to marriage. Your college education, however, is likely going to have a far more significant impact on your life. Finally, if you think your relationship is strong enough, it should be able to endure the distance. Also, you can always transfer back to Wisconsin if it is too tough

How dangerous is it to live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin?
I lived there for 3 months right after Hurricane Katrina, but I didn't get to explore the city because all I did was go to school & then come back home because I was very depressed, as a result of the disaster. My brother said it's very dangerous & that I shouldn't move back there. Well, he was the one who MADE me move there. He's very manipulative. & is it true that all the low-income areas there are dangerous? Or do you think he just wanted to make a fool out of me & make me spend more money? He makes it like you can get killed everywhere you go. That's another reason why I stayed to myself. I'm not sure, but I MIGHT be considering moving back there to try to go to Grad school.

UW-Milwaukee is one of the easier state schools to get into in the state of Wisconsin and they offer a wide variety of programs and majors to choose from. The two things that will have the greatest effect on your acceptance are your overall high school GPA and your ACT score (the SAT is not necessary). A GPA of 2.8 and above will put you in a good place and a 3.0 is pretty much a guarantee for admittance if you do alright on your ACT's. An ACT score of 22 or above will be enough to get you in. Sports could have an affect if you are planning on playing at the college level and extra curriculars will never hurt. Another factor is the essay you write when applying. That is where you should explain reasoning behind any poor grades in certain classes or if you did poorly on your ACT's. Basically you just need to have the right balance between ACT scores and GPA. A low GPA can be saved by a great performance on your ACT's and a poor ACT score and can be overlooked if you have an above average GPA
